Snowdrops and cyclamens in Devon

Sunday 6 February 2022

The day will start at 10.30am at RHS Rosemoor with a tour led by Mediterranean specialist Susie Hauxwell, followed by lunch at noon. Members booked in advance are then invited to continue on to Higher Cherubeer where Jo and Tom Hynes will give a guided tour of their garden to see Jo’s National Collection of Cyclamen, snowdrops (over 400 taxa), hellebores, crocuses, hepaticas and much more, followed by tea and cake.

Members wishing to make a weekend of their visit may choose to stay locally, arranging their own accommodation. Possible places to stay include the Rams Head Inn at Dolton and the Duke of York at Iddesleigh. Other options are rooms at Rosemoor and a hotel nearby.

Unfortunately public transport to the area is limited. The nearest national train station is Exeter then a local train which runs on the pretty Tarka line to Eggesford. Members hoping to find others wishing to car share may contact Sue Tymon at sue@tymon-uk.com.

The cost for the day is £25 per person for RHS members. Non-RHS members also have to pay entry to Rosemoor, making the fee £38 in total.
