WELCOME ...
Mediterranean Plants and Gardens is a not-for-profit association for people with particular interest in the plants of Mediterranean
climate zones. We encourage sustainable gardening, matching plant species intelligently to their environment and using water economically. Members enjoy varied trips botanising in Mediterranean climates and also visits to gardens, many of which are rarely open to the public. Recent trips include Cape Town and the Drakensberg, Catalonia, southern Peloponnese, plant-hunting in the Maremma and Crete and a return to Frascati and Viterbo. The calendar for 2020 was very busy with botanical trips to Israel, the Greek island of Evia, and Tuscany; a garden tour in Sicily and events in the UK but most have been postponed due to Covid-19. The Israel trip was successfully completed at the beginning of March. Keep checking our EVENTS page and do join us.
