Pashley Manor tulip festival, East Sussex
Friday 25 April 2025
Members visited Pashley Manor during the annual tulip festival and enjoyed the profusion of bulbs supplied by Bloms Bulbs. Head Gardener Lewis Monger assisted us in exploring the garden rooms at Pashley, a Tudor manor house set in beautiful parkland. The gardeners undertake the mammoth task of planting over 48,000 tulip bulbs from the autumn alongside all the other jobs needed to keep an 11-acre English country garden looking beautiful. The garden rooms are roughly colour co-ordinated. It was particularly useful having Lewis and representatives from Bloms Bulbs on site to offer advice about the cultivation and garden worthiness of the tulips we saw on display. We were lucky to have fine weather and enjoy a lunch on the terrace after the tour.
