Plants of Gibraltar with Leslie Linares

Tuesday 11 October 2022 at 5.30 for 6pm start on Zoom

Guest speaker Leslie Linares, head of the botanical section of the Gibraltar Ornithological and Natural History Society, formerly a physics teacher, is devoted to photography and botany. His talk will explore the different habitats of three-mile-long Gibraltar which include maquis, garrigue, coastal and chasmophytic, each with their own distinct vegetation. The result is that around 670 species of plants can be found growing on and around the Rock. These are typical Mediterranean species which can withstand the summer drought, but then make their spectacular appearance once the rains start. Please note that booking for this event will close 5.30 Monday 10 October. There is no charge for members of MPG and its affiliates. Non-members can join here.
