Corfu gardens and flowers

Wednesday 11 March – 5.30pm for 6pm

Jackie joined this MPG trip on the Greek island of Corfu to study garden plants and to see wildflowers in their natural habitat. Described as the “garden of the gods” and being the wettest of the Greek islands, Jackie had particular objectives to research plants that could be suitable for cultivation in south-central England. Jackie says the trip proved to be a fantastic opportunity to discover plants that she was unfamiliar with, to learn about cultivation methods and – in particular – to gain knowledge from the garden owners, designers, horticulturists, local naturalists and her knowledgeable fellow MPG travellers. Her full illustrated report on the expedition is at
