Guide to Member Posts

What are member posts?

A member “post” is a short message, which may be accompanied by an image, addressed the the membership of MPG, and on which members can comment.   The message therefore needs to be something relevant to the membership and not on an unrelated topic or something personal.   Examples of possible messages might include

  • a picture of a plant and a request for help with identification
  • asking for advice about the how to deal with pests that attack mediteranean plants
  • asking the membership for good places to see mediterranean plants if you are holidaying in a new location

Who can post content?

Any member of MPG can post content.   The content will be reviewed by a moderator to check it is on a relevant topic and doesn’t include anything personal or offensive, and the moderator may modify the content or contact the author if there are questions.   The moderator will then either approve or reject the post – if approved it will then become visible to the membership, but not to the general public.

How to find out when there is something new?

When a new post is created, all members will receive an email alerting them to the new post – if you don’t wish to receive these emails then you can remove yourself from the list – just click the button on each email to remove yourself from this list.

How do I create a member post?

Click the button “Add new” on the member posts page and then complete the form – enter a brief title for your post, select the post category as “members only” , enter your message, and if you wish upload an image (4mB maximum) to accompany the message.   When you’ve finish, just click “Submit Post”.

How do I comment on someone else’s post?
