Winter meeting and Hanbury Gardens

Saturday 21 January 2023 10.30 for 11am start on Zoom

The annual winter lecture will take place via Zoom. The lecture will be preceded by summaries from the management committee, updating members on MPG business and activities since the July AGM and going forward. The accompanying lecture sees us delve into a garden with historical connections to the Lost Gardens of Heligan with Head of Gardens and Estate Alasdair Moore.

Alasdair will lead us to Italy and the garden of La Mortola. This classic estate popular with garden lovers worldwide sits on a promontory overlooking the Mediterranean and is the work of the Hanbury family, in particular Sir Thomas Hanbury. Alasdair has written a book on the subject and will explain the history of the garden and the link to Heligan.

Please note bookings for this event will close at 10.30am on Friday 20 January.
